Kay is a scientist and founder of the Medical Research Council Functional Genetics Unit. The sun always seemed to shine during our morning sittings in her lovely Oxford home, overlooking the beautiful garden. We had brilliant, stimulating conversations while she calmly and fondly stroked her cat. The DNA symbol was fascinating to paint and study in detail.
